Wireless DSL

Wireless DSL technology uses microwaves to trasmit data at high speed. An antenna at your home or office is required to establish contact with one of our transmission towers. No phoneline or Dial-Up account are required; you're online 24/7.

Benefits

  • Wireless DSL is much faster than a modem. Our Home User Account is roughly 4 times as fast as a modem connection.
  • You don't need a second phoneline or a dial-up account when you have Wireless DSL. Except for setup-costs, you will be able to enjoy broadband speed at little or no extra cost over a Dial-Up account.
  • You are online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Your personal email address. You can check email over the web or with a pop3 client (such as Eudora)
  • 5 megabytes of server disk space for your personal homepage

    Availablilty
    We can offer Wireless DSL to most home and office locations in Decorah, and Waukon. Additional costs may arise due to Line-Of-Sight issues, which means that your location may require a stand for your antenna that gets above the treetops.  This can require some serious hardware, if your location has heavy tree cover. In general, expect to spend around $1.20 per foot for the hardware, and something for the footings and/or installation of the tower hardware. Most homes don't require this.

    Pricing
    Wireless Internet technology works on the basis of a transmitter that needs to be installed at your residence or business (details above). Due to the availability of new equipment, we can now offer this one-time installation for as low as $299, including hardware and setup. Monthly service plans start at $39 per month.

    Service Plans
    A typical install will take about two hours. If your install is more intricate, time in excess of two hours may be charged at our regular rate of $45/hr. We offer the following usage plans.
